Hello lovely, and welcome to my little corner of the internet! So I guess you want to know a bit more about me huh?

Well, here’s the skinny. (Ha! I’m *so* not… anyway. *cough*)

I’m a 30-something single mum to two boys, Zack and Max, living in the heart of Scotland and currently studying towards my degree in psychology with Open University.

Zack (11) is your typical tweenage gamer with an addiction to Overwatch, drawing, being far too thoughtful and intelligent for his own good, and also so silly it scares me – we are so alike! Poor kid!

Max (9) has autism, and is taking the scenic route with his speech. It can be tricky at times, especially not understanding what he’s trying to communicate, but all in all it’s an amazing journey he’s taking me on! He’s funny, very loving and completely adorable, even though I do say so myself!

We’re also owned by a slightly crazy yorkshire terrier named Kenzi, and a big black panther-cat called Milo.

This blog started out it’s first incarnation in November 2007 as a “mummy-blog”, one that brought many friendships and opportunities our way. It was my sounding board, my journal and a memory-keeper for those hazy early years, as well as an extremely cathartic way of getting through the tough times with Max when he was younger. The autism-parent community welcomed me with open arms and helped me feel less alone.

Now that my boys are older, I’ve taken some time to re-evaluate how much and what I’m willing to share online about our lives, and as time has gone on I find that I’m less inclined to need to use my blog as a way of working out how I’m feeling about the issues we’ve faced. Having loving family and friends helps with that of course! Things can still be tricky at times, but I’m in much more consistent and confident in my ability to handle what life throws at me!

So that leaves me with a mummy-blog that is still sort of that but really more of a studying-slash-lifestyle blog, though obviously my kids are the main focus in my life and always will be!

What will I be writing about now, then? I guess that depends on what’s got my attention really!

I’m a multi-passionate Aries through and through. Also a bit woo-woo at times, I love a good bit of meditation and doing my own tarot readings. I get excited about a new hobby and throw myself into it wholeheartedly! After a month or so though, I tend to burn out. Whoops! I’m working on that one, honestly!

Current hobbies (obsessions) include the following:

  • Studying for my degree (I know, I know, but I actually *like* learning!)
  • Netflix (obvs)
  • Everything to do with blogging, hell I’m still hanging on after nearly ten years. By a thread, but still!
  • Instagram stories (far too easy to end up almost late on the school run as a direct result of watching too many!)
  • modern calligraphy and hand lettering
  • photography, mostly with my iPhone these days but I do have my old Nikon D90 kicking about somewhere.
  • tarot and oracle cards (oh so pretty!)
  • personal development and keeping a positive mental attitude… what you put out is what you get back, amiright!
  • making sure I have fun doing all the above!

So you can expect to see a bit of everything really! This is a mummy-study-lifestyle blog after all. Ahem. 😉

If there’s anything you’d like to ask me feel free to contact me through Twitter or Instagram (my two favourite haunts). I’m on there most days and love a good chatter!

Hope the rest of your day is wonderfully awe-inspiring! Much love! xoxo
