Favourite comedy….

So the awesome Heather tagged me for this last week, and I’ve been umming and ahhhhing about what I’d write for it.

Right, my favourite comedy series of all time. Umm.

Shit, I actually don’t watch any comedies anymore!

That’s BAD isn’t it??

I’m more of a CSI, True Blood, Lie to Me, type person.

Or a Home and Away, Hollyoaks and Eastenders type of person.

I really should remedy that one, right?

Maybe Heather was trying to tell me something. I should stop being such a depressing blogger!

It’s true, the last few months my posts have pretty much consisted of how hard things have been with Max, and general snippets of the week.

I think about what I used to watch.

Friends? I guess that’s a comedy series, and probably the only one I’ve watched right through from start to finish.

I do love some Vicar of Dibley, and Dinnerladies.

Father Ted was AWESOME. Feck! Arse! Drink! (Reminds me of my student days… ok not just my student days, I regularly swear when I shouldn’t, and almost always think “I wish I had alcohol right now” at some point in any given week day.)

And of course there is Absolutely Fabulous, dahlink. How could I *not* have thought about that one?

Patsy and Edwina really are awesome aren’t they?

Those drunken evenings, teetering around in clothes that don’t fit, or are frighteningly BAD but good.

I don’t think they really make any comedy series like they used to.

Stand up these days is awesome.

Eddie Izzard, Katherine Tate, and Tim Minchin are three of my favourites, so I’ll show you some of my favourite clips of theirs.

How can you *not* love a bit of star wars with Eddie commentating (swearing, don’t watch with kiddies about!):

Of course everyone remembers Kathy’s meeting with Mr Blair…

And Tim… oh Tim, how can I choose a favourite?? The expressions, the piano playing, the singing, the eyes!

In conclusion, I really need to find some comedy series to watch (Season 2 of Misfits will be starting soon… does that count?), and I absolutely MUST get tickets to see Tim live at some point!

Hilarious! And YES, you need to find a good comedy series to become attached to. Nothing lightens the mood like a good, foolish comedy.
I wish I could recommend something, but we probably don’t get the same programing over here…
