Good Things Come to Those Who Wait…

Today Max had his first day staying for lunch at nursery. Instead of picking him up at 11.15am (just 2 hours after dropping him off), I was to pick him up at 12.30pm. I had my phone next to me the whole time of course, but was pleasantly surprised not to get any phonecalls!

I went in to greet him, which usually ends in whinging and screamy-ness as it means the end of nursery, and I got a huuuuuge cuddle from my boy, and waves ‘byeee byeeee’ to the staff as we went out to get his coat on.

I got a high five after getting him cosy in his buggy!

He was HAPPY!

AND he’d eaten some of his lunch! (one and a half apparently!)

AAAAND he’d had a drink of his milk for the first time ever since starting nursery!

AAAAAAAND he was smiley and happy and relatively quiet the whole way home!

On top of that, when we walked in the door, he didn’t go into a rage or start screaming like he normally does!

We had a great wee play and a snuggle when he got in, and then he took himself upstairs happily for nap time and went straight to sleep.

Even when we went to pick up Zack he didn’t scream like he often, ok… always, does when we get to the place we wait for Z to come out of school.

He’s been happy and contented *all* day!

I can’t believe it!

Of course good things do come to an end.

I had to get a dog-gate for his door as he’d figured out how to climb over the regular one that was on his door.

He’s currently been screaming for around an hour.

I don’t even care to be honest. This is bound to happen after a day where he’s managed to control himself a lot more than usual.

We’ve had *such* a lovely day!!

I hope this continues! 🙂

Oh excellent! It sounds like the extra hour is what he needed to feel ‘done’ maybe? I hope so anyway!

Yeah that’s what I’m thinking. That and he’d actually eaten, so wasn’t starving by the time I came to pick him up?
