I talk too much!

Really, I know I talk too much!

I have to keep myself in check when I’m chatting too much.

I’m an over-sharer too.

I guess these are traits of a fair few bloggers out there, particularly parent-bloggers!

I’m the sort of person who walks down the street and says “hi!” or “morning!” with a big smile to anyone who passes.

If I’m in a queue waiting for something, I can’t help but strike up a conversation with someone.

It’ll be about the weather, and then about how my kids are enjoying being out in it/or not enjoying being stuck in.

If I’m walking with Max and doing my overly-excited-with-signing talking to him, I’ll grin when people walk past and look at me funny. They usually end up smiling back! After all, what they’re seeing is a mum enjoying her son’s company!

I quite like being the way I am.

In fact, I really like being the way I am.

I’m open to conversations, and tend to be able to get one out of most people if I put my mind to it!

I think I’ve taken after my mum with this one. She’s such a warm, gregarious person. I don’t think I’ve ever known anyone to *not* like her!

It seems the apple doesn’t fall far from the tree. I hope!

I am very good at listening too, and giving hugs (*hugs*!), but mostly, I do rather like the sound of my own voice… probably a little too much at times!

At the end of the day, I’m a bit of an introverted extrovert.

I adore time to myself, and I do need my space, but I adore spending time with other people too.

The idea of going to Cybermummy or something similar (it will happen one year! *sigh*) fills me with delight!

The thought of meeting so many people, and getting to travel somewhere on my own, be independent, my own person…

Oh the possibilities!

I guess what it probably boils down to, is that I’m at a point in my life where I’m comfortable in my own skin, and confident in myself.

What about you? Are you a talker or a listener? Does the thought of going to something with dozens of people you don’t know fill you with anticipation, or dread? Do you think it’s maybe more to do with your self-confidence, or is that just the way you are? I’d love to hear your thoughts!

I am a listener. My preferred spot at gatherings is somewhere near the back or the wall. I am perfectly comfortable there, and usually learn a few things by observing. I am also what you would term a “loner”, although in my old age (27 this month!) I find I prefer to have someone also in the vicinity while I’m being “alone”. Not necessarily to talk to, just to have their presence.

I’m an introvert, so I’m generally a listener.

I used to be much more of a wall flower, and don’t get me wrong, though I love getting attention I don’t particularly like having all eyes on me! I’d probably sit next to you and witter on. 😉

Maybe that’s why we get on so well – we compliment each other! 🙂

    You are like me then!
I’ve been told my whole entire life that I talk too much but I argue that others talk too little and it therefore makes me look like I talk even more than I do!
M pet hate is having to drag conversation out of people who barely say a thing.

My sister jokes that sometimes she’ll phone me up for a “listen” since she can’t get a word in edgeways! Lol 🙂

I think we were seperated at birth!! I love talking and I love sharing I guess that’s why I really enjoy blogging even though I cant stand writing!!!

  7. March 8, 2011 / 11:32 am

Hehe I think that’s what some people must think of me! I do notice when I keep going on and on though, and attempt to curb it, by saying “oh jeez, there I go again non stop talking, sorry!” or something similar. 😉

I never really enjoyed writing that much at school (though I was good at it, just not the creative side of it), but I love it now! 🙂

We would totally have a grand time:)

I’d like to be an extrovert and in the right company can more than hold my own in a conversation. It could even be said that I talk too much – with certain people. But, mostly I’m too worried about what other people think. I’m definitely not comfortable in my own skin.

Also, I don’t think you talk too much. I think you’re fab and extremely easy to be with 🙂

Well you’re also very easy to be with! I cannot WAIT till next month!! EEEEEEEEH 5 weeks and 3 days! :D:D:D *happydance*

I’m definitely a listener. I can’t talk about myself to others. Feels indulgent.

    Thought about Blog Camp UK?

I SO want to go, but even the MCR one will be a 5hr train journey away. Not possible with the boys. 🙁 *sulks*

It’s so refreshing to read a blog post like that. It’s fabulous that you’re happy to be who you are, and so you should be because you’re lovely! 🙂
I really hope I get to meet you in person, you can talk my ear off any time!
