I watch FAR too much TV!

Seriously.

The last couple of nights I’ve not had the tv on, and I checked my Sky+ box.

I have about SIX hours worth of recorded things from two days.

Three hours an evening on TV??

That’s not good!

I should really cut down.

I mean I definitely don’t need to watch Home and Away or Hollyoaks (but they have such HOT guys in them*swoon*)…

There’s no way I *need* to see every episode of CSI and CSI Miami (but but Greg! and… well, eh, there’s just something about Horatio, ok! No judging!).

Mental is a good one, and damn it helps that the main character is a hottie.

Same with Bedlam. Oh Theo James… I love thee! (No hunting me down now Unpacked Mummy!)

America’s Next Top Model? Yeah WHY do I watch this?? (I certainly don’t start posing in my living room while watching the photo shoots. Definitely NOT!)

Prison Break… well, it’s the last series and I’ve been meaning to watch it for ages. I do have the DVD set of it though, so really… no need! (Mmmm Linc…)

Six Feet Under, I lost track of so am watching from the beginning on Sky Atlantic.

ER, I was ten when it first started so been enjoying watching *that* from the start (Helloooo Dr Ross!).

Thirtysomething actually makes *sense* now that I’m a grown up and have kids!

Boardwalk Empire is AWESOME. Nuff said.

Same with Treme, and Glee, and Being Human.

ARGH.

There is FAR too much good tv on these days!

I need to choose just a few and stick to them.

There is just so much more I could be doing instead of watching all of that tv.

I don’t even dare think about how many hours it adds up to in a week.

*shudders*

I guess it’s time for me to sit down and decide which of these I’m willing to let go of.

After this weekend.

*cough*

I have like hundreds of boxsets and dvds of CSI and now I’m collecting the Law & Order ones too! I think I might be starting to have a obession with crime shows.. dont get me started on Bones and a certain Mr David Boreanaz.. Mmmm…..

OMG! I SO know where you’re coming from! I had to draw the line at any repeats for my favs. Only “new” ones are recorded and it cuts down a LOT.
But still…. love me some re-runs….

Hehe, I don’t watch much TV in the sense that you do! I just buy all the boxsets and get them on iTunes!

Right now I’m watching Glee (of course what self respecting gay guy wouldn’t lol?), Ugly Betty (same goes with that show lol, although only recently started watching it), Chuck (pretty awesome show, comedy and action)!

Watching Star Trek: The Next Generation too, i’ve not seen all of this one and I like it even though the storylines are so predicible but that’s prob because I’ve seen (and own) all of DS9, VOY and ENT! I’m a huge Star Trek fan!

I also stick on a couple episodes of Friends every now and again! My back catalogue of boxsets is kinda huge lol!

TV is how I wind down every evening 🙂

Does Home and Away have the River boys in it yet over there and Miles with his new look *swoons*………… yes you really do *need* to watch it lol As for Glee, Prison Break, CSI and CSI Miami, (so know where your coming from with Horatio…….*swoons again*) I also *need* to watch them…………… along with my new fave program Parenthood 🙂

My dad watches too much TV. He was here last night and was plonked in front of MY TV watching his shows. lol.

I don’t think it’s bad, you could use the excuse that is is EDUCATIONAL. Dad told me that if he ever needed to kill someone and hide the body he’d know a million ways to do it just by watching all the crime shows!!! (That makes me feel a bit uneasy!)

I watch a LOT less TV than I used to. Like you, I thought about the hours adding up and I just couldn’t justify it, especially as there’s so much I’d like to do but “don’t have time” for. All I watch at the moment is Masterchef. I’ve watched the X Factor in previous years but I might not bother with that this year either. I do feel I’m missing out a bit, but I can still get a Mad Men box set in a couple of years if I feel I have time. (And stick with Six Feet, it’s awesome!)

Oh don’t even get me started on reruns! I just CAN’T! I may as well not have a life… have been watching much less the last couple of days and get so much more done as a result!

Hehe sounds like you’ve got plenty to keep you going then! 🙂 x

  9. March 4, 2011 / 10:36 am

Oh they’ve *just* arrived! And dear god… Miles got HOT when he went to Africa!! *swoons* I even had a rather enticing dream about him last night… 😉

  10. March 4, 2011 / 10:37 am

Haha I don’t really know what education Glee gives me though! Or Hollyoaks and Home & Away! 😉

It wasn’t till I wrote this post I realised just how much I’ve been watching! Have been switching the tv OFF once the boys are in bed the last couple of nights and feeling the benefit of more time! It’s my way of switching off before bed though.. >_<

TV has been rubbish here lately so I’ve taken to watching whole seasons on itunes, sometimes back to back. Just finished Mad Men 1-4 now hanging for 5 to come out, I’m onto the last season of Battlestar Galactica, and Season 1 of Supernatural (Sam is a hottie!)

  13. March 4, 2011 / 1:38 pm

Haha yeah I liked DB till it came out that he was a serial cheater on his gorgeous wife. >_<
    Mmmm Greg… *swoons more*

  14. March 4, 2011 / 1:45 pm

I’ve heard good things about Dean from Supernatural! Waiting for my friend to get back her s1 boxset so I can nick it. 😉

  15. March 4, 2011 / 7:38 pm

I’m detecting a pattern… TV progs with hot guys in them are the order of the day. What about story, acting, suspense, drama?? This is falling on deaf ears, isn’t it…? 😉

I love thirtysomething but struggle to keep up at one hour per day.

  16. March 4, 2011 / 8:54 pm

ANTM – two words – Nigel Barker! He is hot! I can get quite bad with my TV too, depends what time of year it is. At the moment I’m watching ANTM, Masterchef, One Born Every Minute, Hollyoaks and Cougar Town. I’ve also got Glee season 1 on the go on DVD.

  17. March 4, 2011 / 9:43 pm

Yeah I’ve not been watching thirtysomething or ER every day, but do catch up with bits here and there. As for story, acting, suspense and drama? All in Boardwalk Empire! And Mental, and Prison Break! 😛

  18. March 4, 2011 / 9:47 pm

Ooh of course – how could I forget Nigel?? *slaps head* 😉

  19. March 6, 2011 / 5:55 pm

Ooooh, I’d love to watch ER from the beginning. I also loved thirtysomething and agree, it makes much more sense when your a bit older (love the bloke in that with the longish hair). Not that you need anything else to watch, but have you ever watched Cold Feet? It’s also a great one.

I don’t really watch a lot at the moment. I am watching Masterchef at the mo and Being Human which I’m loving. We watch films at the weekend but with husb studying for exams and me doing rainbows/walking/otherstuffthattakesupallmytimegrrrr we just don’t seem to have the time to watch much.

  20. March 6, 2011 / 9:54 pm

I’m waiting for Being Human to come on right now, though I’ll regret the 11pm bedtime tomorrow morning. At least I’ve washed my hair tonight though! LOL
I’m cutting down my tv, it’s just too much! Think of what I could be doing instead?? >_<
