It’s Good To Know You’re Not Alone

This weekend has been a bit, eh, well, a bit too long for my liking.

Zack has been being naughty and saying/doing the same things over and over again regardless of whether I have asked him not to, told him that he’ll lose his games, or point blank shouted at him to go upstairs and give me some peace.

Max is back to normal (YAY!) but has also decided he no longer likes his melatonin-laced-nutella and has been refusing is since friday evening.

I’m stuck on what to do with him in regards to this. I’ve tried putting it in milk, but it’s a hit-or-miss whether he’ll drink it all really, even if I only give him a small amount. I tasted it and it doesn’t seem any different. He’s just being awkward I think.

I’m thinking that I may have to see if I can get drops so I could just syringe it into his mouth in the evenings. Not fun, but at least then I *know* that he’s had the full amount.

Zack has been being a little tyrant to his wee brother.

Sneaking into his bedroom to jump about on the bed while Max is trying to chill out, taking the iPad or DS away from him.

Generally being NOT his usual self.

Luckily my gorgeous friend T popped in this evening.

She does that a lot, and boy am I thankful for it!

She saw first hand what Zack was doing and agreed that he should know better etc.

I ended up having to smack him and send him to my room with none of his cuddly toys to go to sleep with.

He was NOT happy.

Then I had to attempt to force-feed Max at least some of the melatonin, and took the iPad away so that he’d fall asleep.

Cue crying from *both* my boys.

Thank god I have a sense of humour!

At least I had T here to reassure me that she would have done the same thing.

I’m so lucky to have a friend like her, we’re similar in a lot of ways, both have kids with special needs, both have 5yr olds as well into the mix.

It’s nice to know I’m not alone.

In fact, I’m in amazing company!

So now I’m off to watch more Supernatural after having been loaned the 2nd season by my sweet friend…

ROLL ON Monday!!

You need a sense of humour in parenting, or you don’t survive!

You may have to just syringe it in, would mixing it with juice work?

I know, gonna see about getting a liquid version and see if that works…

oh, sounds like your weekend was a bit like mine – a write-off! despite the lovely weather we’ve had down here! Big breath… and start the week again. Sorry I’ve no useful advice on medicine taking – Sasha just won’t take it at all so we had to resort to paracetamol suppositories… not nice but fortunately she rarely needs it! Good luck, and glad to hear you’ve got someone to share it with, that so helps!
