Love Mondays

Why I love Mondays

I must admit, I have a bit of a love/hate relationship with Mondays.

OK, honestly, it’s more of a love/grump relationship.

I love the kids going to school (yes, yes I did just admit that), I love getting the time during school hours to myself, and I love the feeling of FREEDOM that it gives me!

What I’m not keen on though, is the early start that it entails. I don’t have to get up as early as some people do, and I’m thankful for that, but ugh… it’s always harder to get up on a Monday morning. And a Thursday for some reason (maybe that one’s just me…?).

And then there’s the housework: anyone who’s got kids knows that Mondays usually end up being clear-up day from the weekend.

Whether it’s been an epic adventure, or a quiet one, the place is always at least part bomb-site by Monday morning, and I don’t know about you, but I have to attempt to get things in order before I can get on with my week.

And then there are the Mondays when Max has decided to wake at night, as he still tends to do relatively regularly. Those early starts are HORRIBLE. Thankfully I have an awesome friend who walks past our house every morning, so if I’m exhausted, he’ll walk the boys to school. Thank you A! You’re awesome!

All in all though, I look forward to Mondays.

It’s a fresh start, a blank slate, and the first day of any adult conversations since Friday!

So what about you? Are you a lover or a hater when it comes to Mondays?

Let me know in the comments!

Hi Marylin – loved this post, I can relate to so much of it 🙂 Especially the post weekend tidy up (though it’s usually my mess!)
Just wanted to say thank-you too, I have been inspired to take up the BEDN challenge too since seeing your post about it….
Looking forward to more of your posts, xx

I’m glad to know it’s not just me!
Good luck with BEDN!! I try not to take it too seriously, but it’s great to have prompts so I don’t have to think quite so much at this time of year. 😉 x
