Sunday Snippets 18-24 Oct

You know when your kids/spouse/dog says or does something totally blogworthy and you think “I’ve *totally* gotta blog that” but then it only works out at about 3 lines of a blog post and that’s just not enough so you just leave it and forget it ever happened? Well, that’s why I thought I’d start Sunday Snippets. You can write down and/or photograph something cute, funny or generally blogworthy that happens as it happens throughout the week, and every Sunday make it into a post. I figured since we’re all friends here in this bloggy community that maybe you might like to find out what others are up to as well!

  1. Write your Sunday Snippets post.
  2. Get the button in the right sidebar over there to thwack onto your post.
  3. Add the link to your blog post to the MckLinky at the bottom here.
  4. Read what some of your fellow bloggers have been up to, comment, and enjoy finding new people!
  5. Come back next Sunday and do it all over again. 🙂

Oooh this week, it’s been interesting. I really don’t know why we need a two week half term… I mean really? One week is enough for me, and Zack it seems! He’s been asking how many sleeps till he can go back to school, bless his lil heart. I have been secretly counting down the days too. Max doesn’t really get his usual snooze-on-the-sofa while Zack is about, which has lead to a grumpy lil man!

Zack: Mummy, my head is like a love heart.

Me: Why’s that sweetheart?

Zack: Because it’s full of love for you!

Me: *melts into a puddle*

Max has done something very “three year old”.

He waltzed into the living room this afternoon with a pop tart (yes, I’m a Bad Mother who keeps pop tarts in the house).

Not that interesting?

It is when the pop tarts are kept Very High Up to stop him getting to them.

I went into the kitchen to figure out how on earth he’d got them.

There was a kitchen chair pushed up to the kitchen counter.

He’d only gone and figured out how to climb up to get it *and* climb back down again!

I’m soooo chuffed he figured this out, but also very worried that he may fall if he carries on trying this.

Where am I gonna hide the food now??

ACK!

Zack adores X Factor. Only problem is the last few shows (and the next few) have been on so damn late, and are so long, that he gets bored after about 40 minutes (as do I to be honest!).

So I’ve taken to recording it for him to watch on sunday morning.

He’s started calling Sunday mornings his X Factor Fun Time. He sings along, he dances…

and tells Max to “shut uuuup!” if he dares do anything noisy! LOL

Very amusing coming from the boy who’s usually so noisy no one can hear their own thoughts!

Yay, go Max! But could you do something a bit less dangerous next time!

And as for Zack, well my heart just about melted when I read about his head being a love heart.

aawww, the first one made my heart melt too! Oh dear at the VERY HIGH UP incident. We keep everything in presses with childlocks on them! I haven’t had pop tarts for years but now I have a longing for one………………..Jen

Awesome for Max climbing onto a chair to get the poptarts! And I dunno, do you have a *higher* cupboard?

Uh, not without putting a lock on it, which I think is the way I’m gonna have to go… UGH. >_<

Heh, tell me about it! There’s a reason my tagline is “insanity is hereditary… you get it from your kids”… 😉

They’re good for a snack now and then, and on the odd mornings when we’re running late for school… 😉

Oh dear – he’s figured out climbing… It’s all downhill from there I’m afraid. Our Max will climb anywhere, and sniff our any hiding place, no matter how far fetched and unusual. He will also figure out where keys are kept, so locks won’t work. Child locks will work for a few weeks, I suppose. But frankly, you might as well get used to the idea that no food is out of bounds from now on! Good luck!

Shhh! I don’t want to hear that!! Not yet! Not till he’s full time at nursery! LOL 😉

I want an X Factor Sunday morning fun time too!!!!

I think my kids have all been boring this week, either that or I have tuned out as I have no snippets this week. Will try harder this coming week and link up again next week.

I have my very own spiderman too. I’ve gone past worrying about him as he scales dizzy heights, because he seems to have the balance of a mountain goat. I may get him to dust the tops of the kitchen cupboards yet XXX

Some weeks are easier to find things than others, that’s for sure! 🙂

I think that will be the case when Max is a bit older, but I had to catch him from falling after doing the same thing yesterday… heart! in! mouth! :-/
