Time for March’s Taking Stock post. Wait, what? It’s the end of MARCH? Already?? Can somebody stop time please? Wait, actually can you make time stop next week when we’re on our Easter holidays (Easter holidays already!!)? That would be nice. So anyway, it’s been a busy busy month here, with driving lessons (I’m 10 lessons in now, and haven’t had an accident, yay!), going to the gym, my 30th, the first birthday party Max has ever been invited to, the release of what is probably my new favourite game… the list goes on.
So, here we go!
Making : hard decisions about Mishka’s future with us. Our cat Milo (who’s about 4/5 now) started losing a lil bit of hair on his back legs back just before Christmas. I was so hoping it wasn’t related to us getting Mishka, but he’s gone from being a chilled, laid back cat to one who will only come into the house for food and then wants straight back out. Trip to the vet’s later and he’s got a clean bill of health other than being stressed. The *only* thing that’s changed in this time has been getting our lil Mishka girl, and unfortunately there’s nothing I can do to help Milo other than rehome our darling girl. Gutted is not the word. She is such an amazing dog.
Cooking : Erm, just the usual? Max has taken to liking pizza again, so that’s another thing to add to the List of Foods Max Will Eat. (Yay!) Hoping to start baking again soon as Max has started doing some at school and is enjoying helping, which means baking with my boys! Should be interesting… I’ll report back on that one.
Drinking : Hot chocolate with the girls at our favourite spot. Always good to catch up at the end of the week, and it gives me something to do before my driving lesson, instead of thinking about it, lol!
Reading: Ummm… pass? Been such a busy few weeks I’ve not really sat down to read lately! Though Heather at Not From Lapland has recommended Metawars by Jeff Norton, so that’ll be next on the list. Cause my list really needs to be longer. *sigh*
Wanting: it to be summer already. And to have a summer like last year’s. God that was a good summer!
Looking: forward to the Easter holidays. The thought of lazy mornings where we don’t have to get up! and out of the house! first thing is all that’s keeping me going this week. Well, not all that’s keeping me going, but damn it’s helping.
Playing: Lots of WoW, and The Elder Scrolls Online early access started on Sunday, so yeah, I’ve been a bit lost in that world since then. This has definitely been a gaming month for me. Which probably is what accounts for being a lil awol from blogging for the last couple of weeks. Swings and roundabouts is how I roll, it seems!
Wasting: yeah that’d be Netflix again. This month I finished up to the latest season available of Heartland (yay horses and cowboys!), and have started re-watching Charmed along with Buffy. Oh, and of course there’s Veronica Mars (thanks for that Liz and Sally). Haven’t actually watched the movie yet as I’m going through the series first so I know all the references. 😉
Sewing: AHAHAHAHAHAHA. No.
Wishing: for nothing in particular. Life is GOOD these days! Busy, and good. And that’s a really awesome thing. I fully intend to make the absolute most of it.
Enjoying: getting my gaming on! It’s been a while since I was able to game with a group of people who are active and chatty and a great giggle. Yeah, I’m letting my inner geek out… I’m so not the only one. Gamer mum’s for the win!
Waiting: for our washing machine to get fixed on Wednesday. Thank god for my awesome Mum and Dad who have been helping out with the must-do laundry piles over the last few days. Phew!
Liking: that next weekend is the start of Game of Thrones! Sqweeee!
Wondering: how quickly April will go by. If it’s anything like the last few months it’ll be gone in a flash. Damn!
Loving: my 30s so far! It was the Big Day last week on Thursday. I was absolutely blown away by my friends and family and their kindness. It feels like my 20s were mostly an uphill struggle, but finally, over the last few months, it’s like we’ve reached the top of the mountain, and damn the view is amazing from here! I have a good feeling about my 30s. A really good feeling. 🙂
Hoping: for warm and sunny spring days in our upcoming holidays. Pretty please Mother Nature?
Marvelling: over just how much Max has come on over the last month. Like going to his first proper birthday party just last weekend. He had a ball! Luckily there was a soft play area, so he was happy to play with the other kids in that the majority of the time. Not only that though, he was interacting with the kids and the grown ups alike! He had a lil lion mask to wear and went around to roar at people, waiting for them to respond. SO adorable! Not to mention that he’s now in school FULL TIME for two days of the week, and spending some time unsupported in his appointed mainstream class. I could burst I’m that proud of him!
Needing: again with the blog routine, or lack of. I manage well for a few weeks and then off I go on a merry little AWOL trip. Whoops!
Smelling: the hyacinths in the gorgeous basket of spring flowers I got from one of my girlies for my birthday. Love!
Wearing: in this case, not having to wear big jumpers any more! YAY! Spring is here and it’s tricking us with some colder days, but they’re not freezing, so I’m counting the positives. 🙂
Noticing: how much easier the light mornings make getting up for the school run. I know it’s been like this for a while now, but there’s something about waking up with the sun coming in the windows that just makes it that bit easier!
Knowing: that these posts are probably far too long and rambly for many people to read, but I like doing them to think back on the month we’ve had.
b I don’t want to watch the last episode of The Walking Dead… wahhhh!
Feeling: full of the cold, but despite that, feeling positive in general. We’re definitely on an upswing at the moment, and I’m damn sure gonna make the most of it!
So that’s it! That’s March finished and April starting… here’s hoping it’s another good month ahead. 🙂
