There’s Something About Spring

I don’t know about you, but here we’ve had the most gorgeous sun and blue skies for the last 5-6 days now, and it’s truly glorious!

After a really horrible winter, with far too much snow and horrendous ice, it’s a very welcome and long overdue change.

I find it so much easier to get out of bed when it’s light out.

There’s a spring in my step, it doesn’t feel like an effort to get everyone up and ready and out the door for school and nursery anymore.

I’m not filled with dread when I have to go out in the biting cold.

Don’t get me wrong, it *is* still cold, but not as bad as it has been.

This afternoon when we all got back from the school run, we actually went into the garden and kicked a football around!

ALL of us.

Together!

Max is wanting to join in with us these days.

He’s kicking the ball, and will happily run over the grass now to get the ball (last summer he point blank *refused* to go on the grass, choosing to stay on the deck instead!)!

Zack of course is in his element being outside, with his mum, and a football.

We didn’t even need coats on!!

I know it coincides with the melatonin and getting more sleep, but I’m sure that part of the reason I’m so cheery and full of energy these days is also to do with the sun being out, and it staying! light! till at least 6.30pm!

I’m actually looking forward to the clocks changing this spring. MORE light! Even though it means I’ll have an hour less on my birthday. Technically.

I don’t care!

It’s sunny outside, and forecast to stay that way till at least the beginning of next week.

My boys are doing well at school and nursery, and I’m finding my feet with getting on top of the housework, and planning what needs done in the garden.

Spring is definitely my favourite season.

I’ve been pining for the light mornings and evenings since they went away last November.

You can be damn sure I’ll be making the most of it now we have it back!

What’s your favourite thing about Spring?

    Oh I’m jealous!

We had a cold summer, not even warm enough for the beach and now it is autumn it feels like we are going straight into winter, it’s been FREEZING! GRRRRRRRR.

My favourite thing about Spring is seeing all the new flowers and lambs. 🙂

It’s lovely to read such an ‘up’ post M! I’ve been up a couple of hours (it’s now 5.15 am)as I couldn’t sleep so it’s been great to read!

Ahh I love it when I get up before the boys. Doesn’t happen very often at the moment though! I’m sure as they grow older I’ll get it back though. 😉

Ha, ha… I come home from work at 2.15pm and my 16 year old son is STILL in bed when he’s off school 🙂 The same guy had us up at the dawn when he was smaller!!
Spring has sprung here in Cork too, including today. Sun shining, birds singing… Really nice to see, and hear, after the long cold winter.
With all the dark cold mornings getting said son out of bed for school, this morning I didn’t even have to turn on the light as the sun was beaming in the window. Love this time of year as I know it’ll be a long time again before it’s dark getting up at 7am!
I’m off now to avail of this Spring weather and take the dog for a nice long walk 🙂

The warm weather and green grass! For sure! However, mowing it is another thing! 😉

I’m an autumn girl. I like the slightly cooler months without the sinus problems. Hate it when daylight savings ends though.

Haha it *is* still cold! Just not as cold as it has been! But yeah, spent the afternoon in the garden with just cosy jumpers on! 🙂

I like Autumn too, but Spring is by far my favourite! Especially after such long dark horrible winters! >_<
