My Beautiful Locked In Boy

the Royals came to town

My beautiful locked-in boy.

I wonder every day what goes on in that wonderful head of yours.

How do you see the world?

What are you thinking?

How can I help?

That’s the thing with having a non-verbal child with autism: you never really know what’s going on in that head of theirs.

What I wouldn’t give to spend 5 minutes inside that precious head of yours, Max.

To see the world how you see it,

to be able to understand.

Much more than you let on most of the time, of that I’m sure.

You’re starting to talk more these days, but I have a feeling speaking may never be your strong point, and that’s ok sweetheart.

Now you’ve discovered drawing and writing though, maybe… just maybe this will be the key to unlock your silence.

I can only hope,

and be there for you every step of the way.

As I always have been

and I always will be.

Your blogs make me have tears in my eyes! I have been blessed throughout my life and blessed by everyone in it, all for different reasons of course. Only recently I started a new job and my eyes were properly opened about autism and other issues on same spectrum. Your a wonderful mum and I love your outlook on life and enjoy hearing how Max is getting on every day! Your both a credit to each other! So proud of you both, and I look forward to hearing all about the next milestone. Also I give Honor a weekly update, she was most impressed with the Prince William post lol so much so she is talking wifi and iPads lol xxx
