Sunday Snippets 1-7 Nov

You know when your kids/spouse/dog says or does something totally blogworthy and you think “I’ve *totally* gotta blog that” but then it only works out at about 3 lines of a blog post and that’s just not enough so you just leave it and forget it ever happened? Well, that’s why I thought I’d start Sunday Snippets. You can write down and/or photograph something cute, funny or generally blogworthy that happens as it happens throughout the week, and every Sunday make it into a post. I figured since we’re all friends here in this bloggy community that maybe you might like to find out what others are up to as well!

  1. Write your Sunday Snippets post.
  2. Get the button in the right sidebar over there to thwack onto your post, and link back to this post (please!).
  3. Add the link to your blog post to the MckLinky at the bottom here.
  4. Read what some of your fellow bloggers have been up to, comment on at least one.
  5. Spread the love, let others know about Sunday Snippets!

Zack seems to now ADORE the word “butt”. He puts it in almost every sentence he possibly can.

“Mum, come smell my BUTT! hahahaha HAHAHA”

“Mummy, you’ve got a big BUTT! hehehehehehe”

“Mummy, Max has a smelly BUTT! *giggles*”

“Mummy….. BUTT! *hysterical laughter*”

Oh the joys!

Max has now also learned how to open one of the drawers under Zack’s cabin bed so he can climb up onto the bed and snuggle with him while they watch a dvd.

Oh yeah, I finally gave in and put a wee tv/dvd combi in their room in the hopes that Max might actually not scream his head off every night at bedtime. It worked… for the last 3 nights. Tonight? Not so much. Lil bugger!

We’ve been going to playgroup, and over to a new friend’s house (with gorgeous twin boys about a year younger than Max, so similar age developmentally), and Max has, in general, been a wee star! I’m so proud of how well he’s been doing. Makes me a lot less terrified about him starting nursery a WEEK tomorrow! OMG!

On monday I thought we’d try Max not in the buggy on the school run. Bad idea. Horrid. Won’t be doing that again any time soon. Wee bugger is too heavy for me to carry, and by the time we got home he was soaked from throwing himself down in various puddles in a “I’m NOT going any further, nope, no chance” kind of way. UGH.

Besides, the buggy is a ‘safe spot’ for him, and the nursery will be keeping it with them to pop him in if he gets really upset. Don’t want to change *too* much for him!

Oooh oooh OOOOH! AAAND!!

Max has started trying to say “please” when he signs it!! It comes out as one of the following: “peeeeeee” “eeeeeeeezzz” or “peeeez” with his wee voice going up a bit at the end of each. SO SO happy!

Zack has been being SUCH a good big brother to Max lately. We got a book from him called “My Brother Is Different” last week, and have been reading it almost daily since then. It’s helped him understand why Max does certain things, like making a mess of anything he or Zack are playing with, how he doesn’t understand how to play, how he needs space and, the biggy, why Zack gets told off for being naughty while Max doesn’t.

Seriously, I’ve seen a new, much more gentle and understanding side to my Zacki this week. He’s being AWESOME.
